Jardin du Luxembourg

The Luxembourg Gardens were inspired by Florence’s Boboli Gardens and the creation of Queen Marie de Medici in 1612. Covering 25 hectares, the Luxembourg Gardens are split into French and English style gardens that are separated by a geometric forest and a large pond. Spread across the grounds are also more than 100 statues, an impressive fountain, a rose garden, and a number of greenhouses, among other attractions.

Hours 7:30 a.m. to between 4:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., depending on season; Closed Jan. 1, Easter, Easter Monday, Ascension Day, May 1, May 8, Whitsuntide, Whit Monday, July 14, Aug. 15, Nov. 1, Nov. 11, Dec.
Tickets Admission is free
Andy’s Notes:

If you’re looking for something to do with the kids then these gardens are a great place to visit. There is a puppet theater on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 2 p.m. and daily at 4 p.m. during French school holidays. There are also pony rides, swings, and a model yacht that can be rented to sail in the large pond also on the grounds.
