Montparnasse Tower

Sure you get a great view of Paris from atop the Eiffel Tower, but from the viewing deck atop the Montparnasse Tower skyscraper you have panoramic views of the whole city, including a direct view of the Eiffel Tower, which is kind of cooler. Elevators whisk you up to the 59th floor observation deck in just 38 seconds. You can also learn about the history of the city from here. There are touch screens and virtual reality kiosks to learn the backstory on all the top Parisian monuments. It is another three floors of stairs to reach the outside rooftop deck, which offers unobstructed-by-glass panoramic Parisian views, but this area is not accessible to wheelchairs.

Hours April through September, daily, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.; October through March, Sunday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Tickets Adult $20, age 12 to 18 $18, age 4 to 11 $11, age 3 and under free
Andy’s Notes:

It is also worth visiting the tower at night to see the city lit up, including the Eiffel Tower twinkling directly ahead. You can buy a combo ticket for about $6 more that allows two visits in 24 hours so you can see the views by day and night.
