Palais de Chaillot

Constructed in 1937 for the Universal Exhibition, the Palais de Chaillot on the Place du Trocadéro is made up of two neo-classical wings separated by a terrace leading to the Jardins du Trocadéro. From the terrace, you have one of the most impressive views of the Eiffel Tower. The Palais de Chaillot is home to three major museums — the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine, the Musée National de la Marine, and the Musée de l’Homme. It is also home to the Théâtre National de Chaillot. The latter is the National Dance Theater and is one of the top places in Paris to catch a live international dance performance.

Hours Open daily except Tuesday and holidays, 9:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.; open until 9 p.m. on Thursday
Tickets Each museum charges separate admission, prices start at $7
Andy’s Notes:

The Musée National de la Marine is closed for renovations until 2021, but the other two museums remain open. Also make sure to check the website for the National Dance Theater’s performance schedule. Tickets for these will be higher than general museum admission.
