Palais du Luxembourg

for Marie de Medici by Salomon de Brosse in the 1600s. It is a French-style palace with some Florentine touches. Today it serves as the home of the French Senate and also houses the Musée du Luxembourg, which features a number of major exhibitions.

Hours Palais open Monday and Friday, provided the Senate is not in session; museum open only during temporary exhibitions
Tickets Museum, $14; free for children under 16
Andy’s Notes:

If you want to tour the inside of the palace, where the Senate works, you will need to be on a group tour that requires prior approval from a French senator. Stick to the grounds or the museum.
