Institut du Monde Arabe
The Jean Nouvel-designed building housing the Arab World Institute is considered one of the finest examples of contemporary architecture in the world. For the past 30 years, the institute has strived to connect France with the Arab culture through the museum and its exhibitions, as well cinema screenings, conferences, and live performances. Exhibits range from historic to contemporary, with past themes such as “Hip-Hop — From the Bronx to the Arab Streets” and “Contemporary Morocco.” Take a break at the snack bar or linger longer at the ninth-floor restaurant, which doubles as a tea lounge from 3 to 6 p.m.
