Institut du Monde Arabe

The Jean Nouvel-designed building housing the Arab World Institute is considered one of the finest examples of contemporary architecture in the world. For the past 30 years, the institute has strived to connect France with the Arab culture through the museum and its exhibitions, as well cinema screenings, conferences, and live performances. Exhibits range from historic to contemporary, with past themes such as “Hip-Hop — From the Bronx to the Arab Streets” and “Contemporary Morocco.” Take a break at the snack bar or linger longer at the ninth-floor restaurant, which doubles as a tea lounge from 3 to 6 p.m.

Hours Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Ticket sales stop 45 minutes before the museum closes.
Tickets $9 or reduced rate of $7 (job seekers and groups of 6 or more) or $5 (guests under 26 and non-European Union citizens).
