To get the most out of your trip to Paris, it’s essential to connect with the culture. During your stay, pick a coffee shop or a convenience store to visit every day and make friends with the staff and local patrons. Parisians are cultural connoisseurs, and you can talk to just about anyone on the latest exhibition, movie, or book.

If you need any toiletries or aspirin, try to get them by Saturday evening, as most grocery stores, pharmacies, and shops are closed on Sunday.

Don’t be surprised if a store seems to be closed at random times or if a restaurant is closed on the weekend — it’s common for the French to savor the day and leave at their leisure.
