Au Pied de Cochon

While pigs’ feet remain the eponymous specialty of the house at Au Pied de Cochon, the menu is expansive and the servings are generous. You’ll certainly find plenty from the pig and even more from the sea, but beef, chicken, frog, and duck round out the mains, often served with potatoes, lentils, or baby vegetables. Even more impressive than the portions or selections at this popular theater-district haunt are the hours: Au Pied de Cochon is open 24 hours and, according to self-declared legend, hasn’t closed since it opened in 1947.

Andy’s Notes:

Don’t get the wrong idea about quality here. Au Pied de Cochon may be a 24-hour brasserie, but it’s no dive or diner. The serious cost is rewarded with serious quality, and it’s all homemade.
